The Belmont Hotel is an 1850s sea facing Victorian ear building. Like many of its kind, it was riddled with central heating issues with certain bedrooms overheating and some being unable to reach a comfortable temperature. The current energy crisis only added to the owner’s worries.
The solution came with our low-temperature Thermate radiators, which immediately reduced the amount of water in the system by 70%. Multizone smart heating controllers helped to distribute the heat evenly across the whole building and brought additional 20% savings on central heating bills.
Yet more savings came with the installation of a voltage optimiser, which momentarily dropped the building’s electricity consumption by about 15 % and has been extending the lifespan of the building’s electrical equipment, such as lighting, kitchen appliances, etc., ever since.
In spring 2023, we will be back installing photovoltaic and thermodynamic panels for green electricity and heat production respectively, as the client is aiming at Net Zero.
